Mabuhay! I am excited to announce as the Episcopal Liaison to Filipino Priests in the USA and Chairman of the USCCB Subcommittee on Asian and Pacific Island Affairs about the 4th Assembly of the National Association of Filipino Priests-USA to be held on October 27-30, 2020 at the Hilton Meadowlands, East Rutherford, New Jersey. This assembly provides a venue for Filipino-American priests of good standing and serving in the United States to come together to foster unity and solidarity, to provide fraternal support and to assist each other to become better ministers and active partners in our mission of evangelization.
The Theme of the 4th Assembly is: “One in Christ Sent for His Mission,” reminding us of the Quincentennial Anniversary of the Evangelization of the Philippines in 2021, our unity in Christ as well as the mandate of carrying out His mission faithfully and joyfully. It is a wonderful opportunity for Filipino priests to celebrate our calling highlighting the gifts we contribute in the evangelizing work of our local church in the United States.
We are grateful for the hospitality of the clergy of Regions I and Region II consisting of the Archdioceses and Dioceses of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania who are hosting our national gathering. In collaboration with the National Executive Board under Rev. Ver Tolentino, President of the Association, Rev. Patrick Longalong and Rev. Gerardo Paderon Co-Chairpersons of the local Administrative Committee, we have undertaken the initial preparation to organize the various activities of the event.
I cordially invite my Filipino brother-priests to be a part of this historic gathering and strongly encourage your attendance. Your support is critical in pursuit of the vision and mission of our association. The Catholic Church in the United States is stronger and the work of evangelization continues to grow because of your collaboration, fidelity and dedication in exercising your pastoral ministry. I look forward to your participation.
Grateful in advance for your support, spirit of solidarity and consideration on this matter, with prayerful wishes of God’s blessings, I remain.
Fraternally yours in Christ,
